Kangertech Cupti Review

Posted by Voodoo Vape on

The CUPTI is a top filler where the NEBOX filled from the bottom and that was the source of the ejuice leakage problem.

A single 18650 battery, not included, powers the CUPTI. Kangertech does include a charging cable that connects to the device via the micro USB port on the bottom of the mod. The battery door is spring loaded and also on the bottom of the CUPTI.

The Kangertech CUPTI Starter Kit has a wattage range of 7 – 75 watts. In temperature control mode it has a range of 200° F – 600° F and 100° C – 300° C. Power adjusts are in 0.1 watt increments and temperature adjustments are in 10° F and 5° C increments.

There are three buttons on the CUPTI, the fire button on the front of the mod, and the “+” and “-” buttons on top of the device. The LCD display is also on top of the CUPTI. It will fire Nickel 200, Titanium, Stainless Steel and Nichrome coils in temperature control mode and standard coils in variable wattage mode.

When you attach a new coil to the CUPTI the display will read, “New Coil + yes, – no.” Press the appropriate button. If it is a new coil pressing “+” will calibrate its base resistance. If you attach a new coil and don’t get that prompt, unscrew the coil connector assembly and press the fire button until the display reads “Check Atomizer.” Then reattach the coil connector assembly and you should get the prompt.

To choose the type of coil you have attached click the fire button three times to cycle through each option, Nickel 200,Titanium, Stainless Steel, Nichrome and finally variable wattage mode. Adjust the temperature or wattage with the “+” and “-” buttons.

Kanger Cupti Kanger BlogIn TC mode the display will show a battery meter, resistance of your coil, maximum wattage of 75 watts, selected coil material, selected temperature and scale. When you’re in variable wattage mode the display shows battery meter, resistance, voltage and your selected wattage.

Hold in the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time to flip the orientation of the display by 180. When you’ve find a temperature or wattage setting that you’re satisfied with you can lock the “+” and “-” buttons by holding in all three buttons at the same time. This will display the “+” and “-” buttons and keep you from inadvertently changing your setting. Unlock those buttons by again holding in all three buttons simultaneously.

What’s In The Box

1 X CUPTI
1 X 0.5 ohm Stainless Steel CLOCC coil
1 X 1.5 ohm Nichrome CLOCC coil
1 X Spare drip tip
1 X USB Charging cable
1 X User’s manual
Performance: The CUPTI is a solid performer. It produces a solid amount of vapor and the flavor from that Stainless Steel coil is rich and full. In temperature control mode there is just a half beat between pressing the fire button and the coil vaporizing the ejuice, but it’s not nearly as pronounced as it was on the NEBOX.

The buttons work well, and the display is crisp and easy to read. Switching between coil types and TC and variable wattage mode is simple and intuitive.

In the First Look at the CUPTI I commented that there was a little gurgling. That went away pretty quickly and has not recurred.
